Abstract: Aiming at improving the differences of surface flexibility between present hard materials thermal manikin and real body, and increasing the measurement accuracy of special functional clothing, this paper investigated a kind of simulated skin used in thermal manikin.Six kinds of polymeric elastomers were selected to be simulated skin material, which were high temperature vulcanized silicone rubber, natural rubber latex, medical silicone rubber, polystyrene elastomer TPR,polyolefin elastomer EVA,thermoplastic polyurethane TPU.Based on lots of experiments, such as tensile test, compression test, thermal property test, the synthetic performance of these materials were studied and the optimum simulated skin material was selected by means of fuzzy decision theory in fuzzy mathematics.Thermal manikin experiments in static and varying environmental conditions approved that this soft simulated skin does good results in improving the controlling precision, stability and environmental tolerability of thermal manikin.
