Development of the silk fibroin blend membranes

Abstract: Introduced the blend membranes consisted of SF and synthetic or natural polymers,such as poly-(vinyl alcohol)(PVA),polyacrylamide,chitosan,sodium alginate,cellulose and so forth,its structure and mechanical properties were compared and analyzed,potential applications were further summarized in biomedical fields as culture medium of cells,controllable medicine-releasing carriers,artificial skins,artificial joints,an immobilisation matrix for enzymes and so on.The potential values of this blending system were expatiated in biomedical and pharmaceutical materials.
