Abstract: Intelligent/self-adaptive textiles were classified according to the shapes or dimensions,characteristics and functions of materials as shape-adaptive textiles,characteristics-adaptive textiles and function?-adaptive textiles.The definitions of each sort of self-adaptive textiles were presented,moreover,properties and applications of the representative products were introduced to exhibit the newest development and achievement in this field.The prospect of the intelligent/self-adaptive textiles was made on the basis of the present research achievements and development trend in intelligent/self-adaptive textiles.
