Abstract: At present,fabric softness assessment still needs to improve.In this paper,both subjective and objective assessment of fabric softness was discussed.The subjective assessment adopts rank method.The objective assessment adopts KES-F to test bending,shear and compression indexes of fabric and choose 7 mechanical indexes as evaluation indexes.The main indexes were found by main factor analysis and the comprehensive evaluation value was calculated and the softness of fabrics was ranked.The results indicate that the objective assessment is consistent with the subjective assessment and is more credible.
