Abstract: The thermal and pre-oxidation properties of the dry spinning PAN with and without surface treatment were analyzed and compared.DTA study showed that the surface treatment could greatly reduce the thermal release temperature of the fiber and greatly ease the centralized thermal release.Oxidation experiment demonstrated that the fiber after surface treatment was pre-oxidized at the temperature of 240~250℃and thus obtained a pre-oxidized textile fiber with the strength of 1.7 ~ 1.9 cN/dtex,elongation 19% ~ 22% and Limiting Oxygen Index(LOI) 36%~49%,whereas the dry spinning PAN without surface treatment was out of the feasibility to prepare the pre-oxidized fiber.
