Abstract: Bamboo-pulp is practically used to prepare regenerated cellulose fibers and the properties of bamboo pulp have direct impact on the quality of the viscose fiber produced. The morphological, crystalline structure and chemical components of bamboo fiber and several kinds of pulp fibers were characterized and compared with each other by optical microscope, scanning electron microscope, fourier transform infrared analysis,wide-angle X-ray diffraction. The experimental results showed that,by a series of chemical degumming processing, the expansion of the pulp fibers occurred, and fibrillation structure was observed on their surfaces which exhibited no so smooth as that of bamboo fibers.Compared with bamboo fibers, pulp fibers contained decreased components owing to the processes of clearing away non-cellulose impurities. The crystalline degree of the pulp fibers had been greatly decreased, and cellulose Ⅰ had partly changed to cellulose Ⅱ in crystal structure.
