Abstract: For improving the stability of the Ag-type inorganic antimicrobial materials, new complexes of calix[4] arene with silver were prepared,in which silver complex ions were used for substitution for silver ions. The product was used as antimicrobial agent for finishing textiles.Since modified derivatives of calixarene as receptors can form complex compounds with silver ions, the products have good antimicrobial activities against E.coli ATCC25922,pseudomonas aeruginosa ATCC27853,staphylococcus aureus ATCC29213 and Candidaalbicans ATCC10231.The cotton fabrics treated with these products still remain excellent antimicrobial abilities against E.coli ATCC25922,staphylococcus aureus ATCC29213 and Candidaalbicans ATCC10231 after 10 laundering cycles.
