Representations of exorcism on folk dresses

Abstract: Representations of exorcism in folk dresses reflect the common survival psychology of exorcising for auspicious, which displays with all sorts of materialized forms in folk dresses, taking folk dresses as the intuitive carrier. In terms of the origin of clothing culture and the historical development, this article makes a deep research on exorcism in folk dresses, discussing its common features, analyzing its form representations and taboos, explaining cultural factors that it contains: consciousness of primitive life worship, symbolic thought, dual antagonistic view, simple dialectical thinking and the view of animism. All those are still influencing thinking and behavior of modern people.
