Abstract: The simulation of 2-D patterns is one of the most important steps during the 3-D garment virtual stitching and try-on. The patterns were obtained using garment CAD system and stored into DXF which can be loaded from DXF file interface program. And the patterns were meshed based on the regular grid method and the triangulation was completed through linking the diagonal of the quadrilateral. Then the mass-spring model was established in which the vertex was the mass and the edge was the spring. Finally, the stress analysis and numerical solution were employed to finish the 2-D patterns virtual simulation. The patterns of man’s vest were adopted for experiment to verify the validity of the regular grid method and realize the 2-D patterns dropped on the desk and virtual-stitching of the vest.
