Abstract: In the experiment, the PVC-coated membrane material was use as the study object. The material was been irradiated for a long time under the UVB-313 ultraviolet fluorescence tubes. Under this artificial accelerated agering condition, the service properties was been studied. In the course of the experiment, macroscopic examination was applied to the surface color and mechanical properties of the material. The microstructure was analyzed through the Fourier Transform Infrared Spectroscopy (FTIR) and Scanning Electron Microscope (SEM). The experiment shows that with the volatilization of plasticizer on the material surface, the Carbonyl Index (CI) first down and then up. The degree of ageing is gradually deepended, a large number of small crack appeared on the PVC film surface. Due to the PVC coating cracking, the breaking elongation of the PVC material increased significantly, but tensile strength hadn’t been changed much after the cumulative UV radiation energy reached 76.03×103 kJ/m2. This shows that with the deepening of ageing, the adhesion effect of PVC coating to the polyester fabric is getting smaller.
