Abstract: The best degumming 8-1 strain was selected from the collected microbial degumming of ramie. We did 4 factors (culture temperature, culture time, volume ratio of bacterium fluid, rotate speed) 3 levels orthogonal test to study the best degumming conditions. The results show that culture time is the greatest influence, culture temperature and volume ratio of bacterium fluid is followed, rotate speed is the weakest influence. The best degumming conditions of 8-1 strain are 4d, temperature 39 ℃, volume ratio of bacterium fluid 1:40 and static placed. With these conditions, the average weight loss can reach 25.94%. Furthermore, we took the ramie fibers degummed by 8-1 strain to do the mechanics performance test and the surface observation. The results shows that when compared with chemical degumming, 8-1 strain increase the average value of single fiber strength of the degummed ramie by 43.45% and the fiber’s surface is more smooth and less damaged.
