Abstract:

The rheological behavior of dyeable polyester melt was studied with the capillary rheometer, and compared with the rheological behabior (PET) melt. The results show that dyeable polyester melt is the typical pseudo plastic and non-Newton fluid. When the temperature increases, the apparent viscosity and structural viscosity index of dyeable polyester melt decline and the non-Newton index increases. With the increase of shear rate, the visco-flow activation energy of dyeable polyester melt declines, in other words, the temperature sensitixity of apparent viscosity declines with the shear rate increasing. Compared with PET, the apparent viscosity of dyeable polyester melt is more sensitive to temperature and shear rate, and the degree of strure is higher.
