Abstract:

Clothing ventilation is a very important factor in clothing design and evaluation. It directly affects human thermal comfort. By reviewing the research achievements both at home and abroad, this paper introduced clothing ventilation measuring method and system, factors affecting ventilation, and the relationship between clothing ventilation and thermal-wet comfort. The main focuses are clothing whole and local ventilation measuring system, and the ventilation applications into the area of thermal-wet comfort. Development trends of clothing ventilation are summarized. CFD techniques cac be used to simulate ventilation process. And ventilation mechanisms should be further studied. In addition, clothing ventilation could also be used in the research area of environment pollution. This may offer more advices on defending environmental pollutants by selecting suitable garments.
