Abstract: Based on the collection in the Folk Garments Biography House of Southern Yangtze University,one thousand or more collected apparels were researched. The article expatiates systematically the layout of peony patterns and representation in the folk finery shape,its expression in neoteric folk garments and application in modern fashion design.It aims to provide much more broad thinking for the application of Chinese traditional peony pattern in modern fashion design and offers new referential methods and approaches to the ornament techniques of modern costumes.
