Abstract: An infrared camouflage fiber was prepared by melt spinning. The mechanical performance and infrared emitting properties etc.of the infrared camouflage fiber were investigated. The results show that the breaking strength of the fiber increases and elongation decreases continuously during the drawing process while increasing draw ratio. Its mechanical properties, crystallinity, and melting temperature decrease as the fillers content increases in the fibers.Metal particles or ZnO nanoparticles can reduce the infrared emissivity of the fiber. The combined use of these two kinds of particles can produce synergistc effect in inducing the infrared emissivity of the fiber. The lowest infrared emissivity of the fiber can reach 0.60.
