Abstract: For protection and development of traditional arts and crafts，Ningbo gold and silver colorized embroidery was investigated in terms of its historical development, technological characteristics and inheritance. It is considered that it has gone through the process from emergence to prosperity and then falling off. Both of the applied raw materials and stitch of Ningbo golden and silver colorized embroidery have displayed the local characteristics, especially some stitches created by the local embroiderer, such as fold colored embroidery, colored golden embroidery, and “Waiguo Bang”. The inheritance and development of Ningbo gold and silver colorized embroidery need the concerted efforts of governments, corporations，schools, and etc. The protection should be strengthened, and the innovation should be implemented aiming at the protection and save. At the same time，combination of modern elements with traditional arts and crafts, training of professionals and market-oriented operation should also be strengthened.
