Abstract: Introduced the principles of making fibers from polymer blends, and analyzed the formation processes of the fiber structure during the production of fiber from blends of polypropylene and liquid crystal polymers(LCP).Results showed that the LCP phase structure was affected by the LCP concentration, viscosity, shear and elongational stress, size and shape of the spinneret, the use of compatible agent, etc. At high concentration and high elongational stress, the LCP phase can form micro fibers within the polypropylene fiber.
