Abstract: The plasma treatment by O-2 and N-2 was used respectively to treat PET nonwoven fabric.Atomic force microscopy(AFM) and Fourier transform infrared(FT-IR) were employed to characterize the micro-structure of the fiber. The results show that low temperature plasma treatment has significantly etched the surface of PET fiber of the nonwoven fabric and its wettability is also improved. It is found that the fabric exhibits better water adsorption after(60 s′) plasma treatment by O-2.
