Abstract: Cold-plasma induced under vacuum conditions is usually applied to the surface modification of polyester fabrics. In order to achieve more effective and batch treatment of polyester fabrics,a continuous plasma treating system using dielectric barrier discharge(DBD) at atmospheric pressure is developed by researchers and the modification of polyester fabrics was carried out with the system in different gas environment,i.e.,Ar,N_2-Ar,O_2-Ar respectively. The contact angle, wicking effect, decay time and color differences of the treated fabric were tested and scanning electron microscopy(SEM) images were obtained. It was found that the wettability, antistatic property and dyeability of the treated fabric were significantly improved.
