Manufacturing and property of microporous polyester staple fiber fabric

Abstract: To study the moisture transmitting property of the microporous polyester staple fiber fabric,four kinds of fabrics were made with low stretch polyester interlaced yarn of 165 dtex/48 f as warp and spandex wrapped microporous polyester staple yarn of 14.76 tex×2 as weft differing in plain or twill and with or without hydrophilic treatment.And it was found through comparison that with respect to moisture absorption,the plain weave fabric is better than the twill,and there is not much difference between the hydrophilic treated and untreated;the microporous polyester staple fiber fabric itself has a good moisture transmitting ability with no need of hydrophilic treatment.It is proposed that the initial wicking rate be used to characterize the moisture transmitting ability of the fabric.
