Abstract: This paper studied graft copolymerization of acrylamide monomer onto the silk fabrics by radiation of ~60Co γ ray and investigated the influence radiation dose, monomer mass fraction and pH value of the treatment solution on the graft yield.Properties of the grafted fabric were tested and the results indicated that after graft modification, the silk fabric exhibited significant improvement in crease resistance, little change in moisture absorption, and slight fall in breaking strength and whiteness. The optimal crease resistance treatment process conditions were determined by orthogonal experiments through observing the delayed elastic recovery angles: radiation dose,40 kGy;monomer mass fraction, 30%;pH value,4.And FT-IR was used to characterize the grafted silk fabric.
