Dispersibility of nano-ATO in EG for preparing antistatic PET

Abstract: EG was used as dispersion medium,the effects of dispersion methods,dispersion time,kinds and concentrations of dispersants,pH of the suspension and ball-milling time on the dispersibility of nano-ATO in EG for preparing antistatic PET were studied.TEM and absorbency of the suspension were used to characterize the dispersibility under different process conditions.The results show: when ball-milling is adopted as dispersing method and KH570 is used as dispersant,the time of ball-milling is 36 h,concentration of the dispersant is 1.5% and pH of the suspension is 8.5,the addition of nano-ATO in EG produces best dispersion results,which provides a precondition for preparing antistatic nanocomposites with good dispersion.
