Abstract: To evaluate the effects of notch type and notch depth on the tensile properties for textile reinforced flexible composites and to better design and application textile reinforced flexible composites, the uniaxial tensile tests on SENT, DENT and CENT specimens with various notch depths were conducted. The experimental results show that the textile reinforced flexible composite exhibits significantly notch sensitivity. Compared with CENT specimens, the SENT specimens exhibit higher notch sensitivity, and lower for DENT specimens. In this paper, the propagation of notch and the criterion of notch propagation threshold force were also discussed. For these three kinds of notch types, the notch sensitivity and notch toughness were also studied.
