In this paper, pigments had been extracted from natural brown cotton fiber(NBCF) and delinted white cottonseed hulls(DWCH) by extensive use of diagnostic reagents, UV-VIS Spectrophotometer, infrared absorption spectra and normal phase high-performance liquid chromatography (NP-HPLC) comparative analysis of their chemical compositions. The results of corresponding color reactions of two kinds of pigments showed that they were similar in main chemical constituents and all belonged to condensed tannins(CT). The dominant ingredient of both two pigments were CT with pyrocatechol structure, the main ingredient of DWCH pigments also contained resorcin structure while the content of the component with this structure was very small in NBCF pigments. The NP-HPLC method was developed to separate the two samples, the results showed that there were four compositions with one overwhelming in NBCF pigments, and various kinds of constituents were separated in DWCH pigments, however, constituents with the same molecular structure were not found in two pigments.

As an important cellulose raw material in textile industry in China, ramie needs a fast and accurate analysis method to determine its chemical composition. In this research, calibration models were established using near-infrared (NIR) spectroscopy assisted with partial least square (PLS) to predict the main chemical compositions of ramie based on the prior work using Acousto-optic tunable filter (AOTF) near infrared spectrograph, and the thickness of samples affecting calibration model was also discussed. Results show that the average relative error (ARE) between the predict value and the wet chemistry measured value of cellulose and gum content were 1.11% and 4.54%, which were low enough for prediction. Meanwhile, the thicker of sample, the more accurate for NIR model to prediction.

The surface functionalization treatment of VGCF and its dispersion in polymer were studied. The VGCF/PA6 nanofibrous mats with different amount of VGCF were prepared by electrospinning, and then VGCF/PA6 nanofibers reinforced PLA composite was obtained by hot pressing. The results indicated that, VGCF treated with mixed acid presented a better dispersion in polymer solution when the VGCF solution was ultrasonicated for 1h befor and after the addition of polymer. With surfactant treatment, the dispersion of the acid-treat VGCF in the polymer solution had obviously improved. With the addition of VGCF into the PA6/formic acid spinning solution, the mechanical properties were improved. When the mass fraction of VGCF in the spinning solution was 0.03%, the breaking strength of VGCF/PA6 nanofibers reached the maximum value, 14.68MPa. The breaking strength of composites increased at first and then decreased with the increasing content of VGCF/PA6 nanofibers in the composites, and the peak value, 25.80MPa, appeared as the mass fraction of VGCF/PA6 nanofibers reached 7.39%.

A new characterization method for nanofibers membrane was put forward based on the digital image processing and analysis technology. Firstly, segmentation threshold of SEM images were obtained by Photoshop, and then the areas were counted by Matlab. And finally the value of porosity was acquired according to calculating. Test results showed that the porosity of nanofiber membrane decreases with fiber diameter increased. Meanwhile, the results demonstrated that the errors of samples were less than 6% compared with density method. Furthermore, in order to research the influence of the fiber crisscross on porosity, membranes with different thickness were prepared and tested in the same conditions, and it was found that the errors between samples were less than 4% ,therefore, fiber crisscross had little influence on the measurement results might be considered.

In the research of yarn unevenness, the fiber alignment in the yarn is the key to description of the problem. If an assumption is given that the ends of the fibers in yarn follow a uniform distribution along the yarn length, for the given fiber length distribution, then the ideal yarn model can be established geometrically. The Monte Carlo method is used to simulate the variation of the number of fibers in the yarn cross section. In the geometric model, a segment of 8 mm is set to simulate the yarn unevenness in the capacitive type yarn unevenness tester. The comparison shows that under the assumption that fibers in yarn are arranged randomly, the simulated CV of the yarn will increase with the increase of yarn count. The number of fibers in the yarn cross section follows normal distribution asymptotically. The CV of the number of fibers in yarn cross section and the quantity of fibers in the segment are not relevant significantly. The test data illustrates the validity of the model.

In order to express a painting or other art works with gradual transition-grayscale effect, this paper, according to the principle of expressing jacquard silk fabric with single color, adopts a co-planer weave ---- plain weave, to preliminary design a weave model of expressing jacquard silk fabric with single color, which was structured by a series of derivative plain weaves. And, based on it, get the fabric with derivative plain weaves through jacquard fabric experiments. Then, through analyzing the pixels’ brightness in the fabric, sort the different fabrics with derivative plain weaves by the glossiness with gradual transition effect, which was caused by different degrees of brightness. After that, through choosing the useful plain weaves from the weave model, make a one to one correspondence between derivative plain weaves and varying degrees of brightness in art works like paintings. At last, the weaving experiment indicates, that the expression of jacquard silk fabric based on the derivative plain weaves model, can produce a special texture effect, and also a fire-new sense of vision in the jacquard silk fabric.

To put forward a theory to estimate the accuracy of a given woven structure model, the geometry of the plain weave fabric by Peirce’s model is calculated and the similarity principle of the curve is used in the paper. The fabric structure is simulated by using the cubic B spline surface based on the non-devastating measurement with Keyence digital microscope. Through the established model combined with advanced discrete Fréchet distance criterion, both the discrete Fréchet distances of the corresponding peak points, trough points and the absolute differences of the discrete Fréchet distances between trough points and adjacent peak points need to be calculated. If all the absolute differences of the discrete Fréchet distances are within a given threshold, the curves reconstructed with different methods are regarded to be similar. Then the similarity of the two kinds of curves with different 3D structure model of the fabric is analyzed and the exact similarity value is also calculated through the MatLab application. Accurate similarity values calculated with the warp and weft of Sample I and Sample II were 90%, 86% and 82%, 94% respectively.

Three bi-functional reactive yellow dyes containing fluoro-triazinyl groups, which were based on 2-aminonaphthalene-1, 3, 6-trisulfonic acid as the diazo components and m-urido-aniline as the azo components, have been studied. Their UV-visible absorption spectra, dyeing character parameters and wet fastness have been evaluated comparing with reactive yellow dye C.I.176. The relationship between dye structures and their dyeing properties are investigated. It shows that the reactivity of fluoro-triazinyl reactive dye is much higher than corresponding chloro-triazinyl reactive dye, owing to the strong withdrawing electron effect and easily leaving of fluorine atom. Different substituent groups on triazinyl ring can affect the planar and linear structure of molecules, thus causing change the performance parameters of dyes. In addition, the effect of different substituent on chromophore can be predicted by micro-perturbation MO theory.

For applying nano-particles to the functional finishing of textiles, Nano-ZrO2 sol was prepared by sol-gel method, and the PET fabrics was treated with the ZrO2 sol by dip-padding process. A thin layer of nano-ZrO2 particles was formed onto the surface of the fabrics after been cured. The effects of concentration of reactant, kind of hydrolysis promoter and the ratio of reactant and hydrolysis promoter to the particle size of ZrO2 sol were analyzed, and the optimal reaction conditions for preparing nano-ZrO2 sol were determined as follows: concentration of the reactant 0.10mol/L, oxydol as hydrolysis promoter, quality ratio of oxydol to ZrCl4 1:1. ZrO2 sol with about 60nm in diameter was obtained in optimal reaction conditions. The ultraviolet protection factor (UPF) of the treated PET fabrics reaches 185 from 86(cured at 150℃), which has a much lower ultraviolet ray transmission in UVA. The standard test to washing (soaping) showed that the UPF value still remains 132 after 50 washing cycles. The experimental results showed that the treated PET fabrics possess durable UV-resistance property.

When an enterprise produces school uniforms, it often takes the clothing specification and size based on the students’ height and weight as the basic information. This kind of method relying on the experience, it is impossible to meet the development requirement. Characteristics of the male college students’ bodies in Liaoning Province was analysed in this pape, based on the survey of 270 male college students’ bodies, in which 15 body measures were taken. Through the regression analysis of these data, the results shows that the height and weight have influenced on waist girth significantly, and an binary linear equation about height and weight is established. Base on traditional series size design, the relationships between height and length, waist girth and width were significant, and then a equation of a degree is established. In this way, a reasonable uniform series size of male college students can be obtained, which will fit the figure better.

In order to discuss the relationship between linear density of yarn and weft insertion flying state on Dornier air-jet loom, and provide technological base to optimize the process of weft insertion , this paper used Dornier AWV8/S air-jet looms as the experimental platform and the actual weft insertion flying state of Weft slot in the reed was recorded through a high-speed camera system. Then the professional image analysis software- Image pro-plus 6.20 was used to analyse the images of the weft insertion flying state. Average speed, acceleration and vertical wave distance of wefts with different linear density were obtained. The results show that the velocity and acceleration of the yarn with the same material texture increase with the increasing of yarn linear density under the same weft insertion condition. And the linear density of yarn is greater, the flight state of the yarn is more stable. Besides, the weft possessed high flight speed and small fluctuations under the 10tex cotton yarn condition. So this air-jet loom has good motion state in such situation.

In the daily life a larger quantity of seasonal products displayed may attract more customers than that with a smaller quantity of seasonal products. This phenomenon implies that the demand of some products may have a positive correlative with stock level. At the same time a firm can reset its selling price in the different sales stages to promote sales to maximize the profit. This paper researches the pricing and ordering strategy on the non-periodic multi-stage with time-varying demand over a finite planning time, and develops a profit model when the demand is price and stock dependent. The purpose is to maximize the profit by using the optimization to determine the optimal ordering quantity and the optimal prices. Finally an example is adopted to validate the models.

It’s very important to properly evaluate the thermal protective performance of thermal protective clothing for reducing skin burn injury. In this paper, the development of heat and moisture transfer models for thermal protective clothing were reviewed and evaluated, including bio-heat transfer equations and skin burn evaluation models, 1D or 2D heat and moisture transfer models for single layer or multilayer fabrics and full scale 3D garments. The application limitations of these models were discussed, and the predictions of the future studies on heat and moisture transfer model were also carried out. Studies on the heat and moisture transfer model could not only provide proper guidelines for the application of thermal protective clothing so as to reduce skin burn and steam burn, but also improve the test technologies of thermal protective performance and meet the technology requirement of “Safety development” and “public security prevention”.
