Abstract: In the three dimensional simulation of woven fabric, in order to fast realize parametric simulation of fabric with different kinds of weaves, according to the yarns interweave features, a method which the warp and weft yarn were divided into eight group elements respectively was proposed for the modular construction of fabric weave. Fabric weaves can be realized by the construction of the warp and weft yarn group element matrices. The combinations of “0” and “1” were used to unique represent the group elements of the warp and weft yarns. By the row direction “ ” operation of weave matrix (Boolean matrix) and the column direction “ ” operation after the negative transformation of Boolean matrix, the mapping relationships between the weft or the warp yarn group element matrix and the Boolean matrix were established. Designing a parametric input interface, programming and simulating by MatLab software, it is shown that this method can fast construct fabric weaves and realize parametric simulations of woven fabric under different three dimensional models.
