Abstract:

Online cheongsam stores cannot achieve the same experience effect as buying cheongsam in physical ones, and at the same time, the similar fashion style also weakens people's wishes to buy cheongsam. In order to solve such problems, we chose virtual model to try cheongsam on and modular design methods to design cheongsam patterns. We selected a round and curvy-fly cheongsam as an example for research, made cheongsam patterns by ET clothing CAD software, and modularized some main patterns, such as collar, fly, sleeve and sweep. We tried to facilitate the virtual and personalized display of the cheongsam by using a modular function. The virtual model was established and adjusted according to 160/84A female body sizes listed in the Chinese size system. Finally, we shrank and stretched the cheongsam virtually to cope with some craft details, simulated the cheongsam try-on effect by the three-dimensional virtual clothing display software (CLO3D). Practical fitting tests show effectiveness of the virtual cheongsam fits.
