Time prediction of burn injury was performed anming at lasting fire exposure, and the performance of the parameters of thermal protective clothing was investigated. The modeling and simulation method was used to predict the longest safety work time for the burn different degree. Firstly, for three-layer fabric materials (composed of an outer shell, a moisture barrier and a thermal liner), body skin and the air gap between the clothing and the skin, an improved heat transfer model together with boudary/initial conditions was presented in high temperature environments. Secondly, the presented model was applied to calculate the temperature on the fixed contact surface changing with time, and the numerical results were compared with the existing model under the same condition to verify the credibility of the model. Finally, the developed model was also used to predict the critical time to first-/second-/third-degree burn injury and to analysize the influence of air gap and textile thickness on the performance of thermal protective clothing. It is found that during the flash fire condition, the firefighters only have a dizen seconds to escape even wearing protective clothing, and the thichness of the air gap and the fabric play a significent influence of the performance of the clothing.

Abstract: The development of poly(phenylene-1,3,4-oxadiazoles) (POD) fibers in home and abroad were discussed. The functional monomers containing phosphorus or halogen were copolymerized with POD for improving the cyclization degree and flammability of POD fibers, whose LOI can be up to 30. The coagulating conditions had an influence on the aggregation state, surface and mechanical properties of POD fibers. Sulphuric acid solution of 40~50% concentration is the best coagulating agent. Compared with other heat resistant fibers, POD fibers have a better thermal stability than PPS, Nomex and Tanlon. Besides, the good combination of other performance, such as mechanical properties, chemical resistance and dyeing ability, enhances the application of POD fibers in many fields.

In order to improve the antistatic properties of synthetic fabrics, antistatic agent TF-480 was selected to finish the dyed polyester and nylon fabrics respectively. The influences of the antistatic agent dosage, baking temperature, time, and crosslinking agent and its amount on the performance of the finished fabrics was discussed. The process conditions were optimized. The antistatic properties of synthetic fabrics were examined by measuring the peak value of the static voltage and its half life, and the durability of the antistatic property of the fabrics after 20 washing cycles was tested. The color change of the fabrics before and after finishing and washing was observed by measuring their K/S values. The results indicated that better antistatic finish effect is got under the following conditions: TF-480 dosage 30~40g/L, baking temperature 170~180℃, baking time 30~40 s. In particular, the polyester fabric retains good antistatic property after being washed many times, and its color exhibits little change. It is found that addition of crosslinking agent in the finishing faciliates improving the antistatic property of nylon fabric.

Focusing on the problems of high error detection and omission rate of traditional artificial fabric defect detection, this paper presents a yarn-dyed fabric defect detection method, which based on the deep-convolutional neural network. The fabric image contains much noise and has low signal noise ratio (SNR), and optimal dimension Gauss filter as preprocessing is conducted firstly for the sampled images to remove the detailed noise. Secondly, the deep-convolutional neural network is established based on the features of fabric samples, nonlinear mapping ability of radial basis function neural network acts upon convolutional neural network,  weight parameters are adjusted via back propagation algorithm, and a mapping function between defect free samples and training samples can be obtained. Finally, the mapping function and features dictionary are used to reconstruct image and extract features, according to the Meanshift algorithm to segment the defects and determine the fabric defect position by two value. The key factor of preparing melamine formaldehyde fiber is obtaining stable spinning solution. A
two step procedure was used to prepare the spinning solution. The first step was to synthesize the lower
viscosity and water2soluble melamine formaldehyde (MF) resins and the second one was to mix the resins with
PVA solution. The viscosity′s stability of MF′s solution and the spinning solution of MFPPVA was investigated.
Results show that resin′s structure at different polymerization phase has an effect on the stability of the spinning
solution. At the meantime , the mixture status , mixing temperature , ratio of MF to PVA , and storage time ,
also had an influence on the stability of spinning solution

Surface morphology and thermodynamic performances of solution and melt electrospinning fibers and industrial melt spinning fibers were characterized and analysed by scanning electron microscopy (SEM), atomic force microscope (AFM) and differential scanning calorimetry (DSC). The results indicated that surface morphology is different in products owing to different processing methods. Melt electrospinning fibers have smooth surface, while there are distinct concave-convex on the surface of industrial melt spinning fibers, and slight alveolate shape on that of solution electrospinning fibers. According to the analysis of DSC, different spinning methods did not have significant effects on the glass transition temperature, crystallization temperature and melting temperature of fibers. The crystallinity and crystal integrality of melt electrospinning fibers made in laboratory were lower than that of melt spinning fibers made in factory, and solution electrospinning fibers are mostly in amorphous structure.

The nylon 6 nanofibre containing silver particles with different concentrations were prepared via electrospinning. The diameter-distribution and morphology of nanofibres containing silver particles was analyzed by scan electric microscope(SEM),and it was found that when the silver mass fraction was in the range of 0.1%~0.4% and the solution concentration was 10%~16%, the average diameter distributed from 70nm to 90nm. The diameter of the nanofibre reduced as the content of silver particles increased and increased as the solution concentration raised. The TEM images indicated that the silver particles were well-distributed in the nanofibers, showing round or elliptical, and the average diameter was 11.9nm. All particles arranged along the nanofiber central axis line, and the long axis of some elliptical particles was parallel to nanofiber central axis. The results showed that as the content of silver particles increased, the antistatic property obviously improved.

Polyester (PET) and cotton fiber in polyester fabric and polyester/cotton fabric were separated and recycled by use of dimethyl sulfoxide (DMSO). The results show that, polyester fabric can be dissolved easily and recycled in DMSO. It just needed 12min especially when the temperature is during 185~194℃. Meanwhile, because polyester can be dissolved but cotton fiber insoluble in some time, DMSO can be used for separating and recycling PET and cotton fiber form Polyester/cotton fabric. Polyester /cotton fabrics put into the DMSO reagent for 60min. its temperature is 185~194℃.Because it can not be soluble in DMSO, the cotton fibers were recycled by filtering out from the solution with the conditions of temperature about 185~194℃. Moreover, polyester was recycled from the solution. Because of stable performance, the recycled cotton fibers can be used in areas. Intrinsic viscosity of PET increased with the high recycling of DMSO.

For improving the quality of spun yarn, the break draft ratios of SKF drafting system have to be changed when two pressure bars are fitted additively. When the break draft ratio is too low, the twisted roving cannot be sufficiently draft in the break drafting zone, resulting in thick places in the spun yarn. When the break draft ratio is too great, a drafting wave in the drafting roving is caused, and the quality of spun yarn is influenced. The effect of the break draft ratios in SKF drafting system on CV value, thin places, thick places, neps, strength and elongation of spun yarn were analyzed. The results of our investigations reveal that when the break draft ratio is 1.35 with roller setting of 51 mm, the optimum spinning conditions are obtained for the roving of 0.545 g/m and 109 twist multipliers.

A rapid method was developed to simultaneously determine the 22 harmful disperse dyes in textiles, using liquid chromatography-photodiode array-tandem mass spectrometry (LC-PDA-MS/MS). The chlorobenzene vapor reflux extraction method investigated in this paper obtained 2.3~11 times extraction efficiency higher than the ultrasound-assisted methanol extraction method, and the applied of 1.8 µm -column liquid chromatography shortened two thirds of analytical time comparing with the traditional 5µm packed column, and the detection sensitivities were at least increased by 4 times. Furthermore, the ill-defined substance of disperse blue 35(b) in DIN 54231 was identified as dye of disperse blue 26 by electrospray tandem mass spectrometry. The method was evaluated with low quantification limits of 0.8~5 mg/kg for 22 disperse dyes, acceptable recovery of 86.4% - 98.7% and good precision of RSD less than 10%. The harmful disperse dyes, with disperse yellow 23 and orange 37/76 of more frequent, were detected in apparel fabric, lining and some textile accesories such as sewing thread and zip fabric.
